California High School Lacrosse - Louisville drops to San Marcos
February 27, 2019: Santa Barbara, CA 93110 San Marcos Royals (Santa Barbara, CA) boosters exited the stadium content Wednesday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad top the visiting Louisville Royals (Woodland Hills, CA), 16-3 in a non-league battle.
The Royals now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Valencia for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 2. San Marcos will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 10-8 non-league win over Notre Dame (SO) (Sherman Oaks, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 2-0.
In their next game, the Royals clash with the Notre Dame (SO) Knights (Sherman Oaks, CA) in a battle, on Thursday, March 7. Louisville will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
Game Summary
San Marcos Girls Lacrosse Win Opener
San Marcos opened the season at home in the rain but were not slowed by the precipitation in a 16-3 success over visiting Louisville High School from Woodland Hills. San Marcos took a 7-0 lead in the first 7 minutes, 28 seconds of play. Louisville notched their first goal 7:57 into the contest to make it 7-1. By the time Louisville scored their second goal San Marcos had boosted their total to ten goals. The Royals led 13-3 at halftime and then shut out Louisville 3-0 in the second half. In the second frame it were mostly just letting the air out of the ball and some players assuming different roles. The second half shut out provided the final thirteen goal win.
