North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Vandalia Vandals (Vandalia, IL), 56-49 in a league bout.

With the win, North Mac upgrades its record to 17-8 on the season. The Panthers travel to Nokomis (Nokomis, IL) to play the Redskins in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Redskins go into the bout with a record of 16-10.

Next up, the Vandals play the DuQuoin Indians (DuQuoin, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 27. Vandalia will attempt to upgrade on its 5-18 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 9-16 record after their 51-49 league win over Frankfort (West Frankfort, IL).
