Nebraska High School Basketball - Giltner crushes Newman Grove
December 29, 2011: Giltner, NE 68841 Giltner Hornets (Giltner, NE) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Newman Grove Bluejays (Newman Grove, NE), 61-29 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Giltner upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Hornets travel to Lawrence-Nelson (Nelson, NE) to play the Raiders in a D2 District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Lawrence-Nelson lost 54-37 in their recent non-league bout against Wilcox-Hildreth (Wilcox, NE)
Next up, the Bluejays play the St. Edward Beavers (St. Edward, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Newman Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Beavers go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 53-17 league loss to Holy Family (Lindsay, NE).
