October 10, 2014: Beaver Falls, PA 15010 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) and the host Blackhawk Cougars (Beaver Falls, PA), observed Montour's football squad defeat Blackhawk by a count of 23-0.
The Spartans now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Upper St. Clair for a non-league contest on Friday, October 17. Montour will play a Panthers squad coming off a 28-0 league win over Canon-McMillan (Canonsburg, PA). The Panthers record now stands at 3-4.
Coming up next, the Cougars play the Ambridge Bridgers (Ambridge, PA) in a WPIAL AAA Parkway contest, on Friday, October 17. Blackhawk will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Bridgers go into the contest with a 1-6 record after their 45-40 league loss to New Castle (New Castle, PA).
