Wharton Wildcats (Tampa, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Sickles Gryphons (Tampa, FL), 11-10 in a non-league test.

With the win, Wharton upgrades its record to 16-7 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Sunlake (Land O' Lakes, FL) to battle the Seahawks in a non-league battle on Monday, May 2. The Seahawks enter the battle with a record of 9-9. Sunlake lost 11-1 in their recent non-league battle against Jesuit (Tampa, FL)

The Gryphons now sport a 19-6 record.
