Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Cheylin Cougars (Bird City, KS) and the host Triplains/Brewster Titans (Brewster, KS), saw Cheylin's basketball squad knock off Triplains/Brewster by a count of 45-37.

With the victory, Cheylin upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Cougars host Hitchcock County (Trenton, NE) to play the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 15-6. Hitchcock County won 44-27 in their recent league challenge against Arapahoe (Arapahoe, NE)

Next up, the Titans play the Northern Valley Huskies (Almena, KS) in a Western Kansas Liberty challenge, on Friday, February 9. Triplains/Brewster will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 10-6 record after their 46-30 non-league loss to Golden Plains (Rexford, KS).
