North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe beaten by Porter Ridge

The Porter Ridge Pirates ran past the visiting Monroe Redhawks basketball team by a final score of 73-64 in Wednesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Pirates face the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a 4A Conference 58 game, on Friday, January 28. Porter Ridge will attempt to move on its 14-5 season record. The Cavaliers enter the game with a 10-7 record after their 64-55 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).

With the defeat, Monroe moves to 8-6 on the year. The Redhawks host Central Academy (Monroe, NC) to encounter the Cougars in a 2A/3A Conference 44 test on Friday, January 28. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 1-14. Central Academy lost 58-33 in their recent league test against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)
