Lincoln Lions (Lincoln, RI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI), 15-5 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Narragansett for a Division 2 challenge on Monday, April 24. Lincoln will face a Mariners squad coming off a 7-6 league win over Westerly (Westerly, RI). The Mariners record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Portsmouth falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Barrington (Barrington, RI) to face the Eagles in a Division 2 challenge on Thursday, April 20. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Barrington lost 13-8 in their recent league challenge against West Warwick (West Warwick, RI)
