The Wakeland Wolverines nudged the host Hillcrest Panthers baseball team by a tally of 2-1 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Wolverines now hold a 18-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Poteet for a non-league bout on Saturday, May 20. Wakeland will face a Pirates team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Lone Star (Frisco, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 15-4.
