Maine High School Basketball - Oceanside overwhelms Leavitt
January 6, 2022: Rockland, ME 04841 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Oceanside Mariners (Rockland, ME) and the visiting Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME), saw Oceanside's basketball squad wallop Leavitt by a tally of 74-34.
With the victory, Oceanside improves its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Mariners travel to Lincoln Academy (Newcastle, ME) to play the Eagles in a B South challenge on Saturday, January 8. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Lincoln Academy won 46-36 in their recent league challenge against Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME)
Next up, the Hornets play the Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) in a B South challenge, on Saturday, January 8. Leavitt will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Black Bears come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 47-40 non-league loss to Cony (Augusta, ME).
