Virginia High School Softball - Oakton gets by Meridian
March 18, 2024: Vienna, VA 22181 Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Oakton Cougars (Vienna, VA) and the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA), witnessed Oakton's softball squad tip Meridian by a count of 2-1.
The Cougars now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Mount Vernon for a non-league match on Wednesday, March 20. Oakton will face a Majors squad coming off a 14-1 league loss to Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology (Alexandria, VA). The Majors record now stands at 1-2.
With the loss, Meridian moves to 0-3 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Westfield (Chantilly, VA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Monday, March 25. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 0-3. Westfield lost 6-2 in their recent non-league match against Yorktown (Arlington, VA)
