The Laney Buccaneers baseball team scored 6 runs and limited the host Topsail Pirates to 4 in the Buccaneers league victory on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Wildcats come into the Mideastern 3A/4A challenge with a 11-2 record. In their last challenge, New Hanover got by Hoggard (Wilmington, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Topsail falls to 3-6 on the season. The Pirates host West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC) to encounter the Trojans in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, April 8. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 2-10. West Brunswick lost 10-1 in their recent league challenge against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)
