The Monticello Sages basketball team scored 47 points and restricted the host St. Thomas More Sabers to 46 in the Sages league victory on Thursday.

The Sages now sport a 11-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tolono Unity for a Illini Prairie contest on Monday, February 5. Monticello will battle a Rockets team coming off a 48-44 league loss to St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 17-11.

The Sabers (12-13) will now prepare for their contest against Tri-Valley (Downs, IL). The Vikings come into the non-league contest with a 21-7 record. In their last contest, Tri-Valley edged Tremont (Tremont, IL), 63-49, in a league contest.
