The South Pontotoc Cougars crushed the host New Albany Bulldogs baseball team by a tally of 8-2 in Thursday's league bout.

The Cougars now hold a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they host Independence for a non-league bout on Saturday, March 25. South Pontotoc will face a Wildcats team coming off a 19-4 league win over North Panola (Sardis, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-10.

Next, the Bulldogs face the Olive Branch Conquistadors (Olive Branch, MS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 25. New Albany will attempt to advance on its 8-11 season record. The Conquistadors enter the bout with a 1-6 record after their 13-1 non-league loss to Jenks (Jenks, OK).
