Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD) and the visiting Gayville-Volin Raiders (Gayville, SD), saw Alcester-Hudson's basketball squad hold off Gayville-Volin by a tally of 42-38.

With the victory, Alcester-Hudson improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Cubs travel to Menno (Menno, SD) to play the Wolves in a B Region 4 challenge on Saturday, December 10. The Wolves come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Menno lost 46-21 in their recent non-league challenge against Tripp-Delmont/Armour (Armour, SD)

Next up, the Raiders play the Wausa Vikings (Wausa, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 13. Gayville-Volin will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 51-37 non-league loss to Elgin/Pope John (Elgin, NE).
