In Friday's league match, the host Portage Northern Huskies football squad scored a big 63-7 victory over the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants.

In their next game, the Huskies clash with the Lakeview Spartans (Battle Creek, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan match, on Friday, September 23. Portage Northern will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 1-2 record after their 35-14 league loss to St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI).
