March 26, 2012: LaFayette, GA 30728 The Gilmer Bobcats got by the host LaFayette Ramblers baseball team by a count of 4-3 in Monday's league bout.
The Bobcats now possess a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host Cedartown for a 7-AAA Div. B bout on Wednesday, March 28. Gilmer will face a Bulldogs team coming off a 9-7 non-league win over Dalton (Dalton, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-3.
The Ramblers now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Swainsboro for a non-league contest on Friday, March 30.

Gilmer High School survives Lafayette 4-3 thanks to Henderson's late-game heroics
Colt Henderson drove in the go-ahead run to give Gilmer High School the lead in the eighth inning, as Gilmer High School hung on to beat Lafayette 4-3 on Tuesday.
Austin White singled to start the eighth. He then went from first to second on a single by Marlen Hensley. Finally, Henderson came to the plate with the score tied at two, and, bringing home White.
White was steady at the plate for Gilmer High School. White went 3-5 and scored one run. White doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Sawyer Thompson looked sharp on the rubber. Lafayette managed just three hits off of the Gilmer High School's pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 5 1/3 innings of work.
