Pearsall Mavericks (Pearsall, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to FEAST HomeSchool for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. Pearsall will face a Patriots squad coming off a 7-6 non-league loss to Nixon-Smiley (Nixon, TX). The Patriots record now stands at 7-2.
