The Newton Tigers tipped the visiting Choctaw Central Warriors basketball team by a final score of 60-56 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Tigers face the Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) in a non-league game, on Saturday, December 18. Newton will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record. The Commodores enter the game with a 8-0 record after their 66-23 league win over Lewisburg (Olive Branch, MS).
