Alabama High School Basketball - Talladega routs Sylacauga
January 19, 2024: Sylacauga, AL 35150 In Friday's non-league outing, the Talladega Tigers (Talladega, AL) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Sylacauga Aggies (Sylacauga, AL), by a count of 73-30.
The Tigers (16-6) will now prepare for their outing against Childersburg (Childersburg, AL). The Tigers go into the non-league outing with a 14-6 record. In their last outing, Childersburg smashed Winterboro (Alpine, AL), 48-46, in a non-league outing.
The Aggies now hold a 7-11 record. They play next when they host Jemison for a 5A Area 8 outing on Tuesday, January 23.
First Quarter
Talladega started the game out the way Coach Evans has been preaching to his team all season. Tonight they answered the call.
Second Quarter
The second quarter we got a little careless with the basketball and played like we were losing instead of being ahead and the halftime score reflected that. Talladega took a 32-20 lead into intermission.
Third Quarter
Coach Evans challenged his team at the half to get back to been Talladega, doing the things that got us the lead. Talladega started and finished the Third quarter like Champions. outscored sylacauga 31-9 in the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter
entering the fourth quarter the game was all over Talladega was able to give some hardworking bench players some game time to gain experience much needed. Talladega played a Great game and they're peaking at the right time. We have one more game tonight against Childersburg in the Super Championship Game tonight @Childersburg game starts at 6pm.
