Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the New Town Eagles (New Town, ND) and the host McLaughlin Mustangs (McLaughlin, SD), saw New Town's basketball squad hold off McLaughlin by a tally of 77-74.

With the victory, New Town improves its record to 17-3 on the campaign.

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Todd County Falcons (Mission, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 6. McLaughlin will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 15-1 record after their 67-48 non-league win over Mobridge-Pollock (Mobridge, SD).
