Texas High School Basketball - Anderson holds off Bastrop

Anderson Trojans (Austin, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Bastrop Bears (Bastrop, TX), 52-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Anderson upgrades its record to 5-16 on the season. The Trojans travel to Westlake (Austin, TX) to play the Chaparrals in a 5A Region IV District 25 bout on Friday, January 9. The Chaparrals go into the bout with a record of 10-3. Westlake won 40-38 in their recent league bout against Connally (Austin, TX)

Next up, the Bears play the Austin Maroons (Austin, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, January 9. Bastrop will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Maroons go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 68-40 league loss to Pflugerville (Pflugerville, TX).
