California High School Basketball - Ponderosa nips Casa Roble
January 9, 2014: Orangevale, CA 95662 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Ponderosa Bruins (Shingle Springs, CA) and the host Casa Roble Rams (Orangevale, CA), saw Ponderosa's basketball squad hold off Casa Roble by a tally of 45-41.
With the victory, Ponderosa improves its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to St. Francis (Sacramento, CA) to play the Troubadours in a Delta River League challenge on Tuesday, January 14. The Troubadours come into the challenge with a record of 9-6. St. Francis lost 54-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Christian Brothers (Sacramento, CA)
Next up, the Rams play the Rio Linda Knights (Rio Linda, CA) in a Capital Valley Conference challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Casa Roble will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 50-48 non-league win over Lincoln (Lincoln, CA).
