Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Shenango crushes Hopewell
December 29, 2023: New Castle, PA 16101 Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hopewell Vikings (Aliquippa, PA), 71-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Shenango upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Laurel (New Castle, PA) to clash with the Spartan in a WPIAL 2A 1 bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Spartan go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Laurel won 60-29 in their recent non-league bout against Wilmington (New Wilmington, PA)
Next up, the Vikings clash with the Ambridge Bridgers (Ambridge, PA) in a WPIAL 4A 2 bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Hopewell will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Bridgers go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 71-59 non-league loss to Highlands (Natrona Heights, PA).
