December 21, 2015: Melbourne, AR 72556 In Monday's non-league outing, the Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR) basketball squad edged the visiting Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR), by a margin of 36-35.
The Bearkatz (10-2) will now prepare for their outing against Valley Springs (Valley Springs, AR). The Tigers go into the 3A Region 1 East outing with a 16-3 record. In their last outing, Valley Springs was tipped by Fayetteville (Fayetteville, AR), 71-53, in a non-league outing.
The Cavemen now own a 4-5 record. They play next when they host Trumann for a 4A Region 3 outing on Tuesday, January 5. Cave City will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 53-43 non-league win over Manila (Manila, AR). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-7.
