Troup County Tigers (LaGrange, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Central Lions (Carrollton, GA), 60-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Troup County upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Tigers host Cartersville (Cartersville, GA) to play the Hurricanes in a AAAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 12-2. Cartersville won 76-47 in their recent league bout against Chapel Hill (Douglasville, GA)

Next up, the Lions play the Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA) in a AAAA Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 55-42 league win over Cedartown (Cedartown, GA).
