The Gordo Green Wave basketball team scored 81 points and held the host Sipsey Valley Bears to 78 in the Green Wave non-league triumph on Monday.

The Green Wave now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hale County for a 3A Area 8 contest on Tuesday, December 11.

The Bears (9-2) will now prepare for their contest against Paul W. Bryant (Cottondale, AL). The Stampede enter the non-league contest with a 5-4 record.
