New Mexico High School Basketball - West Las Vegas holds off Taos
February 11, 2017: Las Vegas, NM 87701 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the West Las Vegas Dons (Las Vegas, NM) and the visiting Taos Tigers (Taos, NM), saw West Las Vegas's basketball squad hold off Taos by a tally of 66-61.
With the victory, West Las Vegas improves its record to 15-7 on the campaign. The Dons travel to Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM) to confront the Elks/Elkettes in a 4A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, February 14. The Elks/Elkettes come into the challenge with a record of 15-9. Pojoaque Valley won 52-50 in their recent league challenge against St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Robertson Cardinals (Las Vegas, NM) in a 4A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, February 14. Taos will attempt to improve on its 9-16 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 2-0 league win over West Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NM).
