The Kirby Trojans basketball team scored 40 points and held the host Mount Ida Lions to 22 in the Trojans league triumph on Thursday.

The Trojans now sport a 19-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Murfreesboro for a non-league contest on Monday, January 15. Kirby will battle a Rattlers team coming off a 59-24 league loss to Acorn (Mena, AR). The Rattlers record now stands at 8-8.

The Lions (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against Union Christian Academy (Fort Smith, AR). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 4-16 record. In their last contest, Union Christian Academy was defeated by Lakewood Christian (McAlester, OK), 66-46, in a league contest.
