In Thursday's non-league match, the host Carver Cobras football squad scored a big 44-6 victory over the Hillcrest Vikings.

In their next game, the Cobras clash with the KIPP Collegiate phoenix (Memphis, TN) in a 1A Region 8 match, on Thursday, October 1. Carver will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The phoenix enter the match with a 4-1 record after their 48-0 non-league loss to Starkville (Starkville, MS).
