New Jersey High School Basketball - Donovan Catholic can't hold off Cherokee
January 22, 2022: Toms River, NJ 08753 The Cherokee Chiefs basketball team scored 36 points and held the host Donovan Catholic Griffins to 32 in the Chiefs non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Chiefs now sport a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Washington Township for a Olympic - American contest on Friday, January 28.
The Griffins (10-2) will now prepare for their contest against Manchester Township (Lakehurst, NJ). The Hawks enter the Shore B - South contest with a 7-4 record. In their last contest, Manchester Township was nudged by Gloucester Catholic (Gloucester City, NJ), 47-45, in a non-league contest.
