February 19, 2024: Bessemer, MI 49911 In Monday's non-league outing, the West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) basketball squad edged the host Johnston Speedboys (Bessemer, MI), by a count of 37-35.
The Wykons (3-18) will now prepare for their outing against Hancock (Hancock, MI). The Bulldogs go into the Western Peninsula outing with a 5-16 record. In their last outing, Hancock held off Republic-Michigamme (Republic, MI), 61-47, in a non-league outing.
The Speedboys now hold a 7-13 record. They play next when they host Ewen-Trout Creek for a Copper Mountain - Porcupine outing on Tuesday, February 20. Johnston will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 57-56 league win over Watersmeet (Watersmeet, MI). The Panthers record now stands at 13-7.
