The Cannon Cougars basketball team scored 69 points and held the host South Mecklenburg Sabres to 44 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carmel Christian for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 29. Cannon will meet a Cougars team coming off a 66-38 league loss to Concord Academy (Concord, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 2-2.

The Sabres (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, East Mecklenburg was routed by Hopewell (Huntersville, NC), 52-31, in a non-league contest.
