Ohio High School Softball - Russia nudges Covington

Russia Raiders (Russia, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Covington Buccs (Covington, OH), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Anna for a Shelby County challenge on Monday, April 10. Russia will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to New Bremen (New Bremen, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, Covington falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Buccs host Bethel (Tipp City, OH) to battle the Bees in a Three Rivers challenge on Monday, April 10. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 4-5. Bethel won 21-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Urbana (Urbana, OH)
