South Williamsport Mountaineers (South Williamsport, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Northwest Area Rangers (Shickshinny, PA), 47-44 in a league bout.

With the win, South Williamsport upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Mountaineers host Millville (Millville, PA) to play the Quakers in a Midd-Penn bout on Wednesday, January 19. The Quakers go into the bout with a record of 1-9. Millville lost 60-53 in their recent league bout against Montgomery (Montgomery, PA)

Next up, the Rangers play the Bucktail Bucks (Farwell, PA) in a Midd-Penn bout, on Wednesday, January 19. Northwest Area will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
