September 29, 2023: Winchester, VA 22603 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the James Wood Colonels (Winchester, VA) and the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA), observed James Wood's football squad thwart Meridian by a count of 28-16.
The Colonels now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they host Sherando for a Northwestern contest on Friday, October 6. James Wood will play a Warriors squad coming off a 40-13 league win over Warren County (Front Royal, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 4-2.
Coming up next, the Mustangs play the Kettle Run Cougars (Nokesville, VA) in a Northwestern contest, on Friday, October 6. Meridian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Cougars go into the contest with a 5-0 record after their 28-24 league win over Millbrook (Winchester, VA).
