Connecticut High School Basketball - Stafford tops Portland
February 7, 2022: Portland, CT 06480 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Stafford Bulldogs (Stafford Springs, CT) and the host Portland Highlanders (Portland, CT), saw Stafford's basketball squad knock off Portland by a tally of 51-36.
With the victory, Stafford improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Rockville (Vernon, CT) to play the Rams in a North Central Connecticut challenge on Tuesday, February 8. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 3-14. Rockville lost 47-25 in their recent league challenge against Windsor Locks (Windsor Locks, CT)
Next up, the Highlanders play the Old Saybrook Rams (Old Saybrook, CT) in a Shoreline challenge, on Tuesday, February 8. Portland will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 4-11 record after their 51-28 league loss to Coginchaug Regional (Durham, CT).
