January 19, 2024: New Iberia, LA 70560 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA) and the visiting Comeaux Spartans (Lafayette, LA), saw New Iberia's basketball squad overcome Comeaux by a tally of 43-24.
With the victory, New Iberia improves its record to 7-14 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Lafayette (Lafayette, LA) to confront the Lions in a 5A District 3 challenge on Wednesday, January 24. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 8-9. Lafayette won 62-60 in their recent league challenge against Barbe (Lake Charles, LA)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Jennings Bulldogs (Jennings, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Comeaux will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 13-11 record after their 62-27 league loss to Iowa (Iowa, LA).
