Texas High School Basketball - Sterling ripped by Manvel
December 28, 2009: Manvel, TX 77578 The Manvel Mavericks basketball team scored 86 points and held the visiting Sterling Raiders to 17 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Monday.
The Mavericks now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Texas City for a 4A Region III District 24 contest on Saturday, January 2. Manvel will confront a Stingarees team coming off a 52-45 league win over Santa Fe (Santa Fe, TX). The Stingarees record now stands at 6-8.
The Raiders (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Kashmere (Houston, TX). The Fighting Rams enter the 4A Region III District 22 contest with a 3-8 record. In their last contest, Kashmere was routed by Reagan (Houston, TX), 62-44, in a non-league contest.
