Illinois High School Softball - Sterling bounces Kaneland
April 26, 2018: Maple Park, IL 60151 Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kaneland Knights (Maple Park, IL), 5-1 in a league challenge.
The Golden Warriors now sport a 13-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Morris for a Northern Illinois Big 12 - East challenge on Friday, April 27. Sterling will face a Redskins squad coming off a 2-0 league win over DeKalb (DeKalb, IL). The Redskins record now stands at 13-10.
With the loss, Kaneland falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Knights host Sycamore (Sycamore, IL) to face the Spartans in a Northern Illinois Big 12 - East challenge on Monday, April 30. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 13-7. Sycamore lost 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Rock Falls (Rock Falls, IL)
