Pennsylvania High School Basketball - River Valley overwhelms Apollo Ridge
December 29, 2023: Spring Church, PA 15686 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the River Valley Panthers (Blairsville, PA) and the host Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA), saw River Valley's basketball squad wallop Apollo Ridge by a count of 56-33.
With the victory, River Valley upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Penns Manor (Clymer, PA) to play the Comets in a Heritage challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 4-7. Penns Manor lost 62-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Northern Cambria (Northern Cambria, PA)
Next up, the Vikings play the Ligonier Valley Rams (Ligonier, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Apollo Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 1-10 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 83-67 non-league loss to Bishop Carroll (Ebensburg, PA).
