Tennessee High School Volleyball - Lebanon Green Hill
September 15, 2022: Mt. Juliet, TN 37122 The Green Hill Hawks volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Lebanon Blue Devils to 1 in the Hawks league victory on Thursday.
The Hawks now have a 18-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cookeville for a AAA District 7 game on Tuesday, September 20. Green Hill will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Lebanon (Lebanon, TN). The Cavaliers record now stands at 10-9.
The Blue Devils (11-4) will now prepare for their game against Science Hill (Johnson City, TN). The Hilltoppers enter the non-league game with a 18-6 record. In their last game, Science Hill gained a win over Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN), 3-0, in a league game.
Match Summary
The upset-minded Lady Blue Devils squared off against the Green Hill Hawks in a meeting of teams with the two best W-L records in AAA District 7. Many fans in attendance did not realize that this match would determine the District 7 winner for the regular season. A Hawks win would secure the season title and would hand the Lady Blue Devils only their second loss in District competition. Green Hill won the first set 25-23 but dropped the second set by an almost identical score of 22-25, before taking the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-20. All the scoring was close throughout the duration of the match with neither team being able to gain a comfortable margin over their opponent. In the end, Green Hill earned the win and pushed their District 7 season record to 9-0. The Hawks play their final District match against Cookeville next week.
