California High School Baseball - Capistrano Valley loses to Trabuco Hills
March 26, 2013: Mission Viejo, CA 92692 In Tuesday's league game, the visiting Trabuco Hills Mustangs baseball team scored a tight 5-1 victory over the Capistrano Valley Cougars.
The Mustangs (9-5) will now prepare for their game against Mission Viejo (Mission Viejo, CA). The Diablos go into the South Coast contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Mission Viejo was overwhelmed by Capistrano Valley (Mission Viejo, CA), 2-0, in a league contest.
The Cougars now sport a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tesoro for a South Coast contest on Friday, March 29. Capistrano Valley will play a Titans squad coming off a 1-0 league loss to El Toro (Lake Forest, CA). The Titans record now stands at 4-9.
Game Summary
The Cougars fall to Mustangs 5-1 in spite of Barnett's performance
Aaron Barnett went 2-4, but Capistrano Valley still fell to Trabuco Hills 5-1 in seven innings on Tuesday at Bob Zamora Field.
Kevin Wade got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed one run over five innings. Wade struck out four, walked three and gave up six hits.
Cole Stanton, Adam Vargas and Wade helped lead Trabuco Hills Mustangs. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Mustangs scored three runs on a two-run home run by Stanton and a sacrifice fly by Nick Tanner all of of starter Cougars Brian Hessling.
In the first inning, Capistrano Valley Cougars Varsity pushed across its only run of the day on a walk by Mychal Matzek.
