Texas High School Basketball - Newcastle crushes Aspermont
January 19, 2024: Newcastle, TX 76372 Newcastle Bobcats (Newcastle, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Aspermont Hornets (Aspermont, TX), 58-23 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Newcastle upgrades its record to 23-1 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Graford (Graford, TX) to play the Rabbits in a 1A Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Rabbits go into the bout with a record of 23-5. Graford won 78-30 in their recent league bout against Woodson (Woodson, TX)
Next up, the Hornets play the Paint Creek Pirates (Haskell, TX) in a 1A Region II District 15 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Aspermont will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 44-18 league loss to Knox City (Knox City, TX).
