West Virginia High School Basketball - Shady Spring holds off Riverside
January 11, 2022: Belle, WV 25015 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Shady Spring Tigers (Shady Spring, WV) and the host Riverside Warriors (Belle, WV), saw Shady Spring's basketball squad hold off Riverside by a tally of 42-36.
With the victory, Shady Spring improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to WestSide (Clear Fork, WV) to confront the Renegades in a Coalfield AA challenge on Thursday, January 13. The Renegades come into the challenge with a record of 1-9. WestSide lost 63-27 in their recent league challenge against Mingo Central (Matewan, WV)
Next up, the Warriors confront the Charleston Catholic Irish (Charleston, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 13. Riverside will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Irish come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 34-33 league win over Buffalo (Buffalo, WV).
