The Mercer Mustangs basketball team scored 36 points and held the visiting Hickory Hornets to 33 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Monday.

The Mustangs now sport a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Middlesex for a District 10 Region 1 contest on Thursday, December 14. Mercer will battle a Big Reds team coming off a 70-42 non-league win over Sharpsville (Sharpsville, PA). The Big Reds record now stands at 1-0.

The Hornets (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Slippery Rock (Slippery Rock, PA). The Rockets enter the District 10 Region 4 contest with a 2-2 record.
