North Carolina High School Soccer - R.J. Reynolds nudges Grimsley
September 8, 2023: Winston-Salem, NC 27104 R.J. Reynolds Demons (Winston-Salem, NC) supporters exited the stadium pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC), 2-1 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, R.J. Reynolds moves its record to 6-2 on the year. The Demons travel to Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, NC) to battle the Spartans in a Central Piedmont 4A bout on Monday, September 11. The Spartans enter the bout with a record of 1-5. Mount Tabor 3-3 in their recent non-league bout against Page (Greensboro, NC)
In their next game, the Whirlies battle the Southwest Guilford Cowboys (High Point, NC) in a Metro 4A bout, on Tuesday, September 12. Grimsley will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Cowboys enter the bout with a 5-3 record after their 9-2 non-league win over Wheatmore (Trinity, NC).
