The Loyd Star Hornets tipped the host West Lincoln Bears basketball team by a final score of 62-59 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Hornets face the Amite County Trojans (Liberty, MS) in a 2A Region 7 game, on Tuesday, January 22. Loyd Star will attempt to move on its 12-7 season record. The Trojans enter the game with a 2-11 record after their 72-53 non-league loss to Port Gibson (Port Gibson, MS).
