Connecticut High School Soccer - Portland nudges Suffield
October 6, 2021: Portland, CT 06480 Portland Highlanders (Portland, CT) supporters were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Suffield Wildcats (West Suffield, CT), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Highlanders confront the North Branford Thunderbirds (North Branford, CT) in a Shoreline challenge, on Thursday, October 7. Portland will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Thunderbirds enter the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 8-0 league loss to Morgan (Clinton, CT).
The Wildcats now possess a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Windsor Locks for a Central Connecticut - North battle on Friday, October 8. Suffield will clash with a Raiders squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Canton (Canton, CT). The Raiders record now stands at 4-1.
