Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC), 66-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Strom Thurmond upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Rebels host Edisto (Cordova, SC) to play the Cougars in a AAA Region V bout on Saturday, February 3. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 1-10. Edisto lost 62-35 in their recent league bout against Brookland-Cayce (Cayce, SC)

Next up, the Indians play the Pelion Panthers (Pelion, SC) in a AAA Region V bout, on Thursday, February 8. Gilbert will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record.
